PTA President's Letter

Hello Mustang Family!

My name is Christy Douglass, and I am beyond excited to serve as your PTA President for the 2026-2027 school year. That might sound overenthusiastic, but I have dreamt of being a PTA mom since I was in elementary school myself. Dreams do come true!

When I’m not helping at Madroña, I serve as a tenured faculty member at Moorpark College, teaching business and hospitality management courses. I’m a proud product of CVUSD schools and hold a BA, BS, MBA, and EdD from Cal Lutheran. My favorite job is being mom to two current Madroña students in 3^rd and 5^th grades. This will be my sixth year serving on the Madroña PTA Executive Board. I am honored to work with the most amazing volunteers, teachers, and staff around!

The purpose of any PTA is to bridge the gap between the staff and families, working together to support the school. The goal of Madroña PTA is to listen to the needs of ALL of our stakeholders and turn those needs into meaningful partnerships that benefit our campus community and, most importantly, our students. In recent years, our PTA has proudly supported our school in providing assemblies, field trips, family programs, and campus improvements, as well as instruction in art, dance, music, PE, science, and engineering.

We ask for your continued partnership in making Madroña a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all of our learners and their families. A PTA membership is only $20 per family for the year. Your financial contribution, as well as the gift of your time and talents, makes a meaningful difference to our students and helps us continue to build a strong, connected community where EVERY student has the opportunity to thrive.

Together, we will make this an amazing year at Madroña!
