I am so excited to join the Madrona Academy team!  I have 20 years of teaching experience, with the majority of my career dedicated to 6th grade English, Social Science, and English Language Development. I earned my Bachelor of Science in English and Master of Arts in Elementary Education degrees from Truman State University in Missouri where I was born and raised.

After moving to California, I began teaching in the Las Virgenes Unified School District and have spent the past seven years in CVUSD at Colina Middle School. Outside of school, I enjoy taking trips with my family, watching my three boys play soccer, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, my favorite football team.

Ms. Adkins

Miss Adkins is in her eighth year of teaching at Madrona Academy where she teaches 4th and 5th grade. She was raised in Thousand Oaks, is a product of the Conejo Valley Unified School District, attended Wildwood Elementary School, Redwood Middle School, and graduated from Thousand Oaks High School. She then went to California Lutheran University and earned her Bachelor’s degree, followed by her teaching credential and Master’s in Teaching Leadership.  

When she is not at school, Miss Adkins enjoys spending time with her niece and nephews, and her Maltese - Hadley Mae Clementine Vanderbilt (the 3rd).  She enjoys crafting, going to Target, seeing concerts, and catching up on her favorite television shows. She feels so fortunate and grateful to be a part of the Madrona Mustang family and is looking forward to another wonderful school year!
